MSc Special Course on Energetic Solar Eruptions, May 2025
University of Turku organized a Special Course in Space Physics entitled Energetic Solar Eruptions in May 2025, supported by the SOLER project. The course had about a dozen registered participants who completed the course. It consisted of eight theme days related to different aspects of the solar eruptive phenomena, each with morning lectures and afternoon exercises. The students had to report each theme day by filling out a questionnaire on it, and altogether 81 feedback forms were filled. The theme days were attended by the 7–14 students, distributed as follows:

Overall, students regarded the difficulty of the sessions quite variable, which is expected considering the versatility of the topics and variable background of the students. Overall, the difficulty matched the students’ background quite well.

Evaluation of the lectures and exercise sessions was overall very positive, with more than half of the feedback forms evaluating both of them with the highest mark. The students regarded the course as a valuable learning experience and the material of the course will be released to the public as SOLER deliverable D9.3 in August 2025.
